Logical Fallacies

Learning about logical fallacy has made me become so critical when reading articles and speech given by politicians or people in general. Little did I know there are a lot of them that have interesting names like Ad Ignorantiam, Ad Populum, Ad Antiquitatem, Straw Man, Post Hoc, etc. Though I did not participate in doing the conspiracy theories, listening to the views of my classmates were interesting and fun.

Song Analysis

Last class was about song analysis. We listen and watched a video clip "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weekend, little did I know the song was about drug and alcohol so i deviated totally when we had to analyse it. I guess that happened because I have never heard any of his songs to know what pattern they follow. Personally I don't listen to such music.

The Narrative

This homework assignment really had me thinking because I'm not the creative type. Writing two pages of a dialogue was hell for me. Initially I didn't know how to go about it, but with the comments the class and the professor made helped a lot. Upon reading some of the stories of my classmates I noticed we all have good stories coming up.

The Narrative

I'm finding it a bit difficult writing three pages of a fictional story that pertains to myself. I think the nonfictional one is quite alright because I find it easy to write about something that has never happened or existed in that i can easily make up one. Though i started with the fictional but not pretty sure I can get up to three pages. From all indications, I realize I'm the only person having a problem with it. I'm open for any suggestions to keep me on point.

True story

This is a life experience I had living in one neighborhood. There was this man who was a psychopath went  around taking ladies panties to sniff. He sneaked to their rooms when these ladies were not around waiting for them to arrive but hid at obscured places until they took their shower so he could take their panties. One day on one of his escapades he stumbled on one and blindfolded her so he  would not be  recognized. He succeeded and took her pantie. These ladies had already reported to the police so investigations were going on looking for him but the victims had no idea who this man was or how he looked like. On another day, he went to this lady’s house to get her pantie, unfortunately enough for him, the lady saw him. To hide his identity, he tried to kill this lady upon struggling with her some neighbors realized there was something going on so the police were alerted and he was arrested.

STOP

In this blog, i would like to share with you an African movie I saw during the weekend which was titled STOP. There was this guy who wanted to get married to this lady so he asked her to go check and know her genotype so they would not birth kids with sickle cell anemia. When he went for the result of the test he did and wanted to share the result with his fiance he decided to text her while driving upon doing that, his phone fell on the floor in the car and wanted to pick it up while still driving and got hit by a truck. This basically tells us that no texting while driving.

Lesson

Hi everyone, I think this English class would help us do and learn a lot such that it is just a few of  us that make the class. I must say that since I have been  in school, I have never sat in a class with just a few number of students and I think it would help us know each other as well. When we were put in groups on Thursday to share and talk about what we did last before coming for class, to me was very informative and I enjoyed every bit it.
